Missing One Tooth

This young female patient came to see me after her implant crown came off. What you see here is a broken Branemark plastic temporary implant abutment.
A dentist used this plastic temporary abutment as final abutment, and this is the result.

Here are the broken crown and the plastic temporary abutment. The dentist fabricated an all ceramic crown
and cemented over plastic abutment that is designed to be used temporarily. Wrong choice of material
for both the crown and the abutment.

I had to put the broken crown back in the mouth
and temporarily bond it to two adjacent teeth as an emergency measure.

Custom abutment placed in model.

Close up view of the custom abutment and the crown. This custom abutment is made of customized
UCLA abutment and high noble metal .

Custom abutment attached to the implant.

Definitive porcelain-fused-to-metal crown cemented
onto custom abutment. Her gum's still swollen from the
emergency temporization of the broken crown, but it
healed uneventfully.
